Day 14 (day off)
I woke up at 10am, pulled off my eye mask (I’m addicted to this really dorky thing called a NIghtHood) and could still hardly move after 11 hours’ sleep. My whole body aches and my various cuts and bruises seem to moan every time I move. I slowly pulled myself out of bed and into the sunshine of my wonderful Polanco terrace.
After a restorative shower, I went in search of poolside sunshine. I managed to get as far as Hotel Carlota. Sadly there was no sun on the pool but happily I sat down for lunch anyway. With a beer in hand, I called the ole fiancé and enjoyed three amazing octopus tacos and steak tartare with delicious, crispy, craggy fries. Through the power of FaceTime, it felt like I was having lunch with Alex sitting across the table.
After lunch I chased the sun around the pool for about 30 minutes while drinking a cocktail but it was a bit chilly to be honest. I managed to bundle myself back into an uber (only £2 to get back home!!)- stopping by another empty bar before heading home. My terrace was wonderful and sunny and warm and I wondered why I left in the first place. I sat and watched Netflix (new Grace & Frankie episodes! Get in!) as the sun set. The warm sun and the pure laziness of the day felt like such a treat.
I managed to pop out for some essential groceries (including some moisturiser for my horrible arm rashes!) and then back to bed for sleep!
What a wonderful day.
Night night!
