Worked 72 hours in one week. It’s only not 80 because Monday was short (6 hours) as there was no service.
A day off!! Wahoo!! Fell asleep at 10 and woke up at 8.30am. What a dream!! Still managed to dream about the restaurant all night. Cleaning today and then meeting my new restaurant mate Dara for lunch at Havre 77. It feels nice to see the sun!
Another fabulous day of chores (washing all my clothes by hand in a wash basin in my flat which somehow felt very Mexican!), eating French food at Havre 77 (and seeing one of Mexico’s other celebrity chefs – who sent up a complimentary starter since he recognised Dara from The Restaurant), had some incredibly pastry from Rosetta’s bakery and then wandered the city. I bought some delicious Mezcal (which I had seen on The Restaurant’s drinks menu) – yet to open the bottle – and rode one of the city’s electric scooters!
I came home, paid my rent and gave my sweet, sweet Airbnb hostess half my loaf of pulque sour dough bread from the Rosetta bakery. She then texted me at 10pm to tell me their was an eclipse! I invited her up and we watched it from my little roof terrace, with Matilda the miniature poodle. Oh how I love my Airbnb!
Night night – better get off to bed for my 5am start!!
